ROOT CANAL TREATMENT is performed on teeth which are damaged by either deep decay or injury. Our natural teeth are much stronger than artificial teeth. Hence, root canal treatment is the treatment of choice as compared to extractions. The root canal treatment involves the removal of the diseased or inflamed pulp under local anasthesia. Each canal is further shaped and cleaned with denal files. Canals are then filled with artificial material called Gutta Percha. At times, a fiber post may be inserted in the root canal treated tooth to reinforce the tooth struture. We may recommend to have an artificial crown made on the tooth in order to further strengthen and protect it.
The entire procedure of root canal treatment is normally completed in 3 to 4 visits to us.
