Fluoride Treatment

FLUORIDE is a mineral naturally found in water and foods. Long term studies have proven that fluoride prevents tooth decay. Fluoride comes in contact with the enamel of the tooth to form Fluorapatite crystals which are more resistent to decay. Hence, toothpastes are also fluoridated. Children less than 7 years of age should ideally use just a pea-size of toothpaste to avoid excessive intake of fluoride. Concentrated fluoride gels are available for professional application by us as it can provide significant protection against tooth decay. Fluoride application is common after scaling. Fluoride varnishes are also available to treat sensitivity.
